Overview

Taste Twins is a book recommendation app that finds readers whose taste correlates with yours. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it. We take your privacy seriously and will never sell your data.

Information We Collect

• Account information: your email address and display name when you sign up
• Book data: books you add, your ratings, reviews, and reading status
• Profile information: optional bio and profile photo
• Imported data: book data from Goodreads or StoryGraph CSV files you choose to upload

How We Use Your Information

• To identify readers whose taste correlates with yours
• To generate book recommendations based on your Taste Twins' libraries
• To send you email notifications about newly identified Taste Twins and a weekly digest of book recommendations (only if you have these enabled)
• To display your profile and library to other users (based on your privacy settings)

What We Share

Your display name and book library are visible to other Taste Twins users by default. You can set your library to private in your profile settings, which limits visibility to only books you have in common with a Taste Twin. We do not share or sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Taste Twins:

• Supabase — stores your account and book data securely
• Vercel — hosts the application
• Resend — sends notification emails
• Anthropic (Claude) — helps classify book genres and extract taste preferences from your reviews

Each of these services has their own privacy policy and security practices.

Email Notifications

When you create an account, we will send you a welcome email with instructions on how to get started. If you haven't added any books after signing up, we'll send you one reminder email, typically around a week after you sign up. If it's been more than 60 days since you last added a book — whether by importing a CSV or adding one manually — we may also send a reminder to update your library so your correlations stay accurate. If you have notifications enabled, we will also email you when a new Taste Twin is identified and send you a weekly digest of book recommendations based on your Taste Twins' libraries. You can turn the Taste Twin, weekly recommendations, and library update reminder notifications off at any time in your profile settings, and every library update reminder includes a one-click unsubscribe link that doesn't require logging in. We will never share your email address with third parties.

Your Rights

• You can update or delete your account information at any time from your profile
• You can set your library to private at any time
• You can turn off email notifications at any time
• You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us
